Is there a dress code?
Absolutely not! Some families like to get a little dressed up, while others keep it very casual. You will be welcomed all the same!
Where does my baby/child go?
We cherish worshiping together as families at Prince of Peace. There's something truly beautiful about hearing young voices join with their brothers and sisters in Christ as we sing hymns together. Worship bags filled with quiet activities are available in the Narthex (entrance) for children from toddler age through 8th grade. Children are welcome to take a bag before the service begins. If a child needs a break during worship, an unstaffed nursery room is located down the hall past the restrooms. A changing table can be found in the women's restroom.
What can I expect when I arrive?
To be warmly greeted! We will hand you a paper service bulletin and an Usher will assist you in finding a seat, if you wish. There is no assigned seating, however some Sundays the first couple rows may be reserved for a special occasion, such as a baptism. If early, feel free to grab a cup of coffee or a bottle of water over from the fellowship hall!
What happens during Service?
The Pastor leads the service with the congregation following along in the bulletin, us reading aloud the bold parts. Certain Hymns (songs) require a separate book (called a Hymnal) to be flipped open to the Hymn number listed in the bulletin. These are provided in the lower chair racks of the row in front of you. There are parts the congregation stands and parts we sit down, if able. Participate as much as you feel comfortable! Don't worry about getting everything right—many of our members felt a bit uncertain during their first few visits too!
What happens after Service?
A member of the congregation hosts light snacks for fellowship time following service. Complimentary coffee and other drinks are provided as well. There is always plenty to share -everyone is invited to enjoy! Then, all ages go to their respective rooms for Sunday school/bible study. All are welcomed to attend and feel free to stay as long as you'd like.
